Create an account
Sign up with your email; you get a code to confirm it, then pick a plan. New sign-ups open in batches, so your account may wait on a short list first; we email you when it is ready.
Create an app
- In the console, choose New app.
- Pick a name. It becomes your address,
name.systemi.in: lowercase letters, digits and hyphens. The console tells you at once if it is taken. - Pick a runtime: Python, PHP, static, or from the Starter plan Java and .NET. Not sure? Upload your code and we detect it.
Every app can have its own PostgreSQL database; add it now or later from the app's Database tab.
Deploy your code
Upload a zip of your project or give us an https git URL and a branch. The smallest app that works, in Python:
# main.py
from fastapi import FastAPI
app = FastAPI()
@app.get("/")
def home():
return {"hello": "systemi"}
# requirements.txt
fastapi
uvicornZip the two files and upload them. We install the requirements, start the app and check that it answers. The one rule for every runtime: listen on the port in the PORT environment variable, on all addresses (0.0.0.0). The guide for your language shows how: Python, PHP, Java, .NET, static sites.
Open your app
When the build log says the app is live, open https://name.systemi.in. HTTPS is on from the start. On the Basic plan an app that has no visits for 5 minutes sleeps and wakes on the next visit, which takes a few seconds; Starter and bigger plans keep apps awake.
Next steps
- Deploying: zip or git, start commands, health checks, redeploys and logs.
- Environment variables: keys and settings outside your code.
- Databases: connect, make tables, run SQL, use the DB API.
- Usage and limits: what counts and what happens near a limit.
